Renada Rochon is the VISN 17 HRO Coordinator with a background in nursing education specializing in planning Nursing Professional Development activities. She has over 22 years in the field of nursing. Her experience spans across a variety of settings to including Medical Surgical, Critical Care, Progressive Care, Long-Term Care, Trauma Specialty Care, Management, and Nursing Education. She is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and has completed many process improvement initiatives based in collaboration and partnerships. She was a participant in NACNS's chronic conditions taskforce responsible for reporting the role of the CNS in managing chronic conditions and for advocating for geriatric populations and people with multiple co-morbidities and chronic conditions. In her current role she is able to build educational curriculum from the ground up to enhance the learning and growth of new nurses as well as ease their transition into practice. Simulation is often used in her educational endeavors.
